Warning: Energy saving units not approved by GTM
An energy saving company is currently in Tzaneen making unsubstantiated claims on energy savings on units that are installed in-line with geysers.
It seems that this company is targeting senior citizens and the uninformed.
Rumour has it that a deposit of R2 500 is required and thereafter a monthly installment of R666 for 48 months.
They do not have GTM approval and the GTM was never approached for approval and the GTM does not endorse such equipment.
Please contact the GTM Electrical Department before you make any financial commitments.
This does not include heat pumps, energy saving bulbs and solar geysers as approved by ESKOM.
This is something new that came to GTM’s attention. The company claim electricity costs are going up with 30 something percent. It is not true. Rates as published (if I remember correctly) is 12.25%.
Talk to the electricity department of GTM. Don’t fall victim. Residents can get free advice from them to make the right choice.
This is an urgent appeal to the general public. Do not make uninformed decisions.
