Municipalities partner to launch campaign

Greater Tzaneen Municipality in partnership with Mopani District Municipality launched the 'Arrive Alive Campaign' last Thursday at Letaba Cross, along the R36 Road.

The aim of the campaign was to advise motorists to obey road traffic rules to avoid accidents during the Easter Holidays.

GTM mayor, Cllr Dikeledi Mmetle asked drivers to produce their driver’s licenses and urged them to avoid speed as speed kills.

She also advised taxi drivers to avoid the issue of over loading their taxis.

Motorists were given goody bags containing educational pamphlets, key holders, license holders and other useful things. The mayor of Mopani District Municipality, Cllr Nkakareng Rakgoale could not make it to the campaign, due to other commitments, she delegated a representative.

The campaign was a huge success and motorists were happy that both municipalities and all the other stakeholders are concerned about their safety.

The mayor and other stakeholders visited families of some of the victims of road accidents in Mokgoloboto Village.
