Manhunt for cash-in-transit suspects

Police in Maake have launched a massive manhunt for a group of eight armed suspects who attacked and robbed a security company which was transporting cash on Tuesday night.

It is alleged that at 19:30 a white ford ranger came from behind and started shooting at the car’s front and rear wheels forcing the driver to stop. According to Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe the suspects started to cut a mounted safe inside the security car and robbed them an undisclosed amount of money before driving away.

“During the robbery, motorists were stopped and ignition keys of their vehicles were taken and thrown away in the bushes. No one including the security guards were injured or killed” said Ngoepe.

The suspects were using a white Ford Ranger, Nissan NP-200, Audi and a Mercedes Benz.

No arrests have been made and police investigations are continuing. Anyone with information about the suspects in this incident may contact Lieutenant Colonel Cecil Machimana on 072 532 1725, call the crime stop number on 08600 10111 or can go to the nearest police station.
