Serial rapist finally faces the law
Villagers in the Bolobedu area have finally found relief after a 28-year man who was believed to be be terrorizing the village for the past five years was arrested.
The man is believed to be a serial rapist who targets elderly women at the ploughing fields.
His reign of terror commenced in 2009.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the man raped five elderly women between 2009 and 2013.
Ngoepe said the incidents occurred at Bochabelo, Ga-Abel and Ga-Ntata villages respectively. It is said the victims were aged 53, 69, 69, 74 and 75.
When police investigated the rapes they were found to have been conducted in a similar fashion, except for one incident where he broke into the victim’s home at night and raped her. The rest were targeted in the fields during the day.
