No water for Hoedspruit

No running water for Hoedspruit for three days.

Residents in Hoedspruit and the surrounding areas will be without water from 12:00 today until Friday 12:00.

This because the Blyde pipeline, which supplies the town, the air force base and most farms in the area with water, will be shut down.

According to Jurie van Vuuren, manager of the Lower Blyde Water Users Association, biofilm has built up in the pipeline and water peroxide will be pumped through the pipeline to try and clear the pipe.

A spokesperson for the Maruleng Municipality says although there will be no running water for the duration, water tanks will be set up at the Spar centre for residents to collect water from.
