New station commander appointed

South African Police Service (SAPS) in Letsitele have appointed a new station commander in December 2014.

The newly appointed station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dina Machete is ready to serve the team with a smile. She joined saps in 1986 under the Police Force and served for 29 years under the Vispol and Detective Unit.

She has worked in eight police stations before joining Letsitele. She served under uniform at Mahwelereng, Sekgosese, Namakgale and has worked as a Branch Commander at Makhado FCS, Thohoyandou FCS, General Detective Commander, Giyani Detective Commander and Giyani Cluster Detective Coordinator.

She promises the community in Letsitele peace, love and happiness but a hammer to all who will be at the wrong side of the law. Her mission in 2015 is to ensure that crime is reduced to zero in her jurisdiction which is comprised by farms, villages and a small suburb of Letsitele. Since her appointed she has managed to bring more than 300 perpetrators to justice. In 2015 the Letsitele police promise to enhance partnership with all various departments, tribal councils and councilors, to revive all the CPF structutres and to work with various NGO’s.

“Police are requesting all community members to work hand in hand with the police. We also promise community members that justice will take its course to anyone committing crime. With all reported cases police will

leave no stone unturned. We would like to thank all community members who helped in fighting crime during the festive season. Our station is working 24 hours.
