Young boy drowns in dam

A young boy drowned in a dam near Tickeyline Village last Thursday.

It is alleged that Makatani Hope Malatji (12) and another boy,

aged 13 years were walking with a dog next to a dam when he slipped and fell into the water.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said police were called to the dam to remove the boy’s body.

He said there were no injuries visible on the body and police are investigating an inquest.

“We are appealing to all members of the community to look after their children especially during these rainy seasons to prevent this type of incidents from happening,” said Ngoepe.
