Criminal activities reported this past week

A brief run-down of crimes reported during the past week.

THE following criminal activity has been reported in the area this past week:

Nov 5:

Waltons warns customers not to trust anyone doing business on behalf of Waltons on the streets. This after a suspect took a card and money from a victim on street and told her she can collect the goods at Waltons. Waltons does not do any business on street.

Three break-ins occurred in Boundary Street, one in Adshade Street and one in Tooley street. In Tooley Street, the suspects hooked two handbags from a flat in a complex.

Nov 6:

One attempted break-in in Annecke street. The suspect removed a window by removing the putty before a small dog alerted the owner and the suspect fled.

Armed robbery in Danie Joubert street. Three suspects armed with hand guns robbed a shop and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money (read more on this elsewhere this issue).

Nov 8:

A worker was found dead after being stabbed in Georges Valley (read more on this elsewhere in this issue).

Malicious damage to property was reported in Leadwood Street and Pieter Joubert Street.

Nov 9:

A break in occured at the offices of FAMSA (Families South Africa). A window pane was broken to gain entry and a laptop was stolen. CCTV footage reveals an unknown black male as the perpetrator.

Stay Safe:

Remove valuables from your vehicle.

Be aware of your surroundings.

Please close windows and lock doors.

Ensure all outside lights are working.

When driving lock your doors, only leave windows partially open.

Ensure garage doors and all gates leading to your yard are locked.

Make sure your armed respones has access to your premises. Test your alarm and panic button.

When going away, inform your armed response company.

Don’t leave the safety of your house when a stranger is in your yard or if you hear noises outside.
