Plasies take on Top 20

Merensky High School's most prestigious athletes travelled to Hans Strydom at Naboomspruit on October 17 & 18, to compete in the annual Top 20 meeting.

MERENSKY High School’s most prestigious athletes travelled to Hans Strydom at Naboomspruit on October 17 & 18, to compete in the annual Top 20 meeting.

No less than 45 schools participated in this event, including some well known for their athletic prowess like Menlo Park, Affies, Prestige College and EG Jansen. The Plasie athletes performed extremely well. Anri McLean, MJ Bench, Noko Malatje and Casper Jordaan all obtained a personal best during the meet. Tertius Kruger took first place for boys u/19 Javelin; and Nhlalu Rihotso for u/19 High Jump. Kelsey-Ann Mostert took second place in the girls u/17 javelin and Delux Jooste took second in the boys u/15 3000m. Rudolph Beetge ended fourth in boys u/15 long jump and Melissa Steenkamp took fourth place in the girls u/17 discus and shot-put.

These performances bode well for the 2015’s athletics season!
