Plasies rock Top 10

October 17 was thé day for swimming on the calendar, as all the swimming schools in Limpopo gathered at PHS to partake in the Top Schools Gala.

OCTOBER 17 was thé day for swimming on the calendar, as all the swimming schools in Limpopo gathered at PHS to partake in the Top Schools Gala.

The Plasie Open Girls team excelled and won both the free and medley relays. Well done Juanè Fernandes, Leandi Toerien, Jana Bekker and Tapiwa Gwanzura.

The u/16 girls, Gwendy Botha, Michelle Stevens, Taytum Cawood and Bianca Spies also won two bronze medals in their free and medley relays.

Leandi also won gold in the 50m back and a silver in the 50 m fly, while Juanè Fernandes won gold in the 50m breast and a silver in the 50m freestyle.

Leandi also won numerous medals in the Limpopo Schools’ trial gala that also took place on Friday and Saturday.

She achieved gold for 200m back, 100m back and 100m fly, silver for the 50m breast, fly and free and a bronze for the 100m breast.

Plasie swimmer, Ivan Botha won a gold for the 50m fly and a bronze for the 50m back at the top schools gala. At the trials he achieved gold for 50m free and fly, silver for 50m back, 200m free and 100m free and bronze for the 100m fly.

Jaco-Jacques Joubert won a gold medal for the 50m breast stroke, while Gwendy Botha won a silver medal for the 50m freestyle.

Cèan Dix-Peak won a bronze for the 50m freestyle.

Plasie swimmers achieved a fourth place at the gala, with High School Ben Vorster in first place, PHS second and Ben Viljoen third.
