Police in Bolobedu are investigating an inquest case after recovering a human skeleton in the bushes outside Refilwe Zone-1 village on Friday.

Police in Bolobedu are investigating an inquest case after recovering a human skeleton in the bushes outside Refilwe Zone-1 village on Friday.

The skeleton was discovered at about 18:45 by a passer-by. Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said at this stage the person is still unknown and the gender is not yet established. Ngoepe said they found male clothing (black takkies, maroon trouser and a red cap) next to the skeleton.

“This indicates that this skeleton might be that of a male person. The Police investigations including the forensic ones are still unfolding which will also assist in establishing the gender category of the deceased,” said Ngoepe. He said anyone who knows of a missing person within hisher family and friends must come to Bolobedu Police Station to assist in the identification of this person, especially with the assistance of the recovered clothing.
