The Independent Electoral Commission in Mopani invites members of the public to the launch of school democracy week that will take place at five local municipal areas on Monday, October 13.

In Greater Giyani the launch will take place at Sikhunyana High School in Sikhunyane Village staring from 10:00.

In Greater Letaba at Magoletja High School in Medingen from 09:00. In Greater Tzaneen, Modipe High School at Botludi Village from 09:00.

In Ba-Phalaborwa at Matome Malatji High School in Maseke Village from 07:30 and in Maruleng it will be held at Malesiba High School in Enable Village from10:00.

According to the IEC’s outreach and training officer in Mopani, Mokibelo Ndlozi, the school democracy week is aimed at strengthening electoral democracy and get people to register for elections.

She said other schools will be visited by IEC officials from October 13 to 19 as part of the school democracy week.

She advised members of the public and learners who are eligible to vote in elections, to bring their identity documents.
