Masters games end in stalemates

Masters Soccer League games which took place at Mamaswa Sports Ground in Lejeng ended in draws recently.

The fast-flowing and highly entertaining games were watched by a capacity crowd.

In the first game, Morudji Masters Football Club took on Matswi Lakalela.

The game started on a high note with both teams promising to score first. It came as no surprise when Musa Ndlala registered his name on the score sheet following a well-coordinated move from the middle of the ground just before halftime.

Matswi came back a different team in the second half and they were rewarded with an equaliser by Joseph Serokana towards the end of the game.

Mamaswa came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Madupa.

The teams played until the final whistle was blown without any more goals. In the second game, the star-studded, Mamaswa came from a goal down to hold Madupa to a one-all draw.

Madupa star player, Maponny Mahlane scored a well-taken goal in the first half.

Sensing defeat from the team which suffered 6-2 humiliation at home last week, Mamaswa introduced the lethal combination of Mongwe brothers, Silence and Bongani.

The move paid off when Silence equalised for Mamaswa midway through the second half. Further attempts by both teams to score the winning goals were thwarted by capable defenders.
