Malefo crowned new Tlhotlhokwe Half Marathon winner

Road runner, Jacob Malefo (26) won the annual Tlhotlhokwe Half Marathon 2018 title on Saturday, June 2.

Malefo from Polokwane was followed on the second position of the 15 kilometres half marathon from Matipane Clinic to Tlhotlhokwe by fellow runner, Isiba Peu (36). Emmannuel Ramohlale (33), also from Polokwane came third.

For their efforts, the winners in both categories each received R2 000 prize money, big floating trophy, miniature trophy , gold medal and some goodies.

Other athletes who obtained position two to five in both categories received cash prizes ranging from R500 to R1 400, silver and bronze medals and goodies from various sponsors.

According to the organizers, the event was made possible by the Greater Letaba Municipality, Jeppe Athletics Club, Afric Oil, Women of Africa, and Sunbake Tzaneen.
