Mahela makes donation

The Mahela farming group donated school uniforms to 108 learners at the Junction Primary school in Letsitele on Friday.

Learners received school shirts, trousers for the boys and skirts for the girls, socks and school shoes.Parents were transported from their respective farms to come witness the handing over of the school uniform to the learners.”This is our school on our property and the major reason to donate the school uniform was to help encourage education as some learners get discouraged when they think of coming to school because they do not have school uniforms,” said Pieter Vorster Director of the Mahela Farming group.”If you have a happy learner you will cultivate great results, our aim is to help the school become one of the best schools,” he further stated .The Mahela group also has an ‘adopt-a-learner’ initiative whereby the Mahela employees adopt a learner and tutor them in all learning areas.Rasebotsa Valery, a parent from Mariveni village could not express how grateful she was, “The Mahela farming group is the parent our children have never had, we are from underprivileged backgrounds and even though we would have loved to buy our children school uniforms, we could not afford it,” she said.”I would like to thank Thank them for meeting us halfway.”
