Many Greater Tzaneen areas without water due to problems at two water plants

Some parts of Tzaneen town will have no water today (Thursday 7 January) due to emergency maintenance of the Tzaneen Dam Water Plant.

According to Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM) media liaison officer, Vutivi Makhuvele, Lifestyle Centre, CBD, Lushof, Doornhoek and Florapark might experience disruptions.

Meanwhile Nkowankowa township residents and neighbouring villages (Dan, Mariveni, Muhlava, Sasekani, Khopo, Dan Extension and Mokgolobotho) woke up to dry taps in the morning.

“Eskom is attending to the matter.

“As soon as the matter is resolved the plant will be restarted, however it will take some time for water to fill up the reticulation system.

“We apologise for any inconvenience,” Makhuvele concluded.
