Residents will be totally dependent on the eight boreholes in town as the dam level dropped to 8,2% this week (sawx.co.za).
“We have three boreholes at the dam and five around town which are all linked to the reticulation system,” Odas Ngobeni, spokesperson of Mopani municipality told Herald.
“We concede that we are concerned, but we believe that working with stakeholders will assist us under these difficult conditions. We will soon hear from the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) as we continue with our engagements on the possibility of releasing a quota from the Ebenezer Dam or even Magoebaskloof Dam. We are urging residents to work with us around water conservation,” Ngobeni said.
