Limpopo gardens are in full bloom

Once a year garden lovers flock to Magoebaskloof and surrounds to see the spectacular cherry blossoms and azaleas in full bloom.

The most popular destinations in Magoebaskloof are Kuhestan Organic Farm, Cheerio Gardens and Sequoia Garden Retreat.

On the Agatha Road you will find the Kings Walden Garden which is an ancestral garden of the Hilton-Barber family.

Kuhestan farm of Shahrzad and Brett Hone lies on a ridge in the mountains and from the Kuhestan shop’s deck you have a sweeping view of the slopes and natural bush towards Tzaneen.

The gardens itself are not as large, but it offers a unique experience with a net-house and a maze planted with azaleas.

The shop offers cordials and preservatives which they produce on the farm. Kuhestan is on the Houtbosdorp Road and is open daily from 09:00 to 12:00.

Entry into the gardens is R30 for adults and R10 for children. For more information, contact Shahrzad Hone 082 903 7593.

They boast two routes, a red route of 1,2km that takes approximately 30 minutes and a blue route of 1,6km of 40 minutes.

Sequoia is open from Monday to Sunday 09:00 – 16:00 and entrance is R50 per person and should be placed in the red postbox in the parking area.

The display of flowers from the tea garden overlooking the dam is one of the best views you will encounter. Cheerio Gardens wedding venue was recently nominated as one of South Africa’s Top 100 Wedding Venues.

Cheerio are open from 09:00 to 17:00 and the entrance fee is R30 for adults and R20 for children and pensioners.
