Queen of the main house thrives
Motivational speaker, Aggy Mabedlhe, took advantage of lockdown by teaching women how to look good.
She started a Facebook page Aggy Mabedlhe Main House, which has thousands of followers and has turned her into a household name.
Her inspiration for the page came after she saw a video of a married who thanked God for lockdown, because as a main house she will have more time with her husband.
Main house is a slang word for married women and small house refers to a mistress.
“I decided to do a video to defy stereotypes that married women are sloppy and unattractive.
“In the video I encourage married women to be attractive while cooking and cleaning their houses.
“I advised them to do their chores not wearing their grandparents’ doeks and for them to take charge of their households.”

She also urged women to always look good in their own homes.
Mabedlhe is a construction site supervisor at Eskom responsible for quality and safety of contractors.
She is the director of Xihlovo Events Management, also directs Xihlovo packing, which supplies pharmaceutical companies with packaging materials and is a sexual health speaker.
Mabedlhe is originally from Mdavula village in the Giyani area, but at a young age her family moved permantly to Diepkloof in Soweto.
She has been married to her husband Richard Mabedlhe for 21 years.
Her husband is also from Giyani (Tom Village).
They are currently based in Johannesburg and have a 18-year-old daughter, Kulani.
“My husband motivates and supports me.
He is encouraging me to study sexology as he knows that I’m passion about sexual health and will be starting with the course in July,” she added.
