Entertainment: Local artists continue making hits

Local artists from Tzaneen and surrounding areas continue producing hits for their fans.

Local gospel singer and songwriter makes a name for himself:

Malcolm Bulala is a gospel singer from a family of five siblings raised by their father. He attended at Bombeleni Primary School and DJZ Mtebule High School in Nkowankowa Section B. Undecided on what to do with his life, he decided not pursue a tertiary education.

“My parents divorced when I was barely a year old but my father always made sure we were well cared for and not in need of anything. He saw to it that we attend church every Sunday,” he said.

He is currently a member of AFM Fountain Of Life under the leadership of Dr M.N Shipalana.

“I have always loved church life, even at a young age. We had to go to church rallies and compete in various activities,” he added.

He said he used to prefer to be in the crowd because of stage fright. That was until he had to do a solo at a Sunday school concert. The solo performance exposed his talent for singing. His Sunday school teacher, Anna Mhlongo and their worship team leader, Pastor Don Mushwana, took him under their wing.

“As a singer and songwriter I have been writing my own songs over the years and I am excited to start performing my own songs in church and at other events,” he concluded.
