Building my dream Porsche GT3 RS

Every car enthusiast's dream is to be able to specify their very own dream car. So whilst under lockdown, my colleagues and I have decided to specific our dream cars.

Justin has chosen Lamborghini since his recent drive in the Huracan EVO and Ryno, rather obviously if you have known him for longer than 15 seconds, chose Ferrari. For me, it’s an easy choice, a 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, until the 992 variant arrives that is.

The dream

The beauty of this configurator is that everyone can do it. Simply visit the configurator website of the manufacturer you’re after and you’ll be able to build your dream car from the comfort of your home. Here is a link to Porsche’s: https://www.porsche.com/international/modelstart/

My GT3 RS

A large part of me wanted to go with a subdued specification for my GT3 RS, however, this is entirely fantastical, so I was bold and chose a hue that has always struck me as beautiful, Miami Blue. I then had to have my wheels in Satin Black and remove the GT3 RS sticker.  I also specified the Weissach package with its exposed carbon fibre roof, bonnet, rear wing, black mirror caps, embroidered bucket seats, a roll cage and six-point harness seatbelt for the driver. The package also includes magnesium wheels and CFRP suspension bits.

I also added a fire extinguisher for the motorsport look and have my seatbelts in Miami Blue too. My interior has also been specific with Alcantara wherever possible. Inside the Chrono Package for lap times is included as is the 90-litre fuel tank, carbon-ceramic brakes, Bose audio system and of course, the front axle lift system.

A dream worth chasing

At this rate, I will never be able to specify my very own 991.2 GT3 RS, however, a configurator such as this inspires and may have me working to one day be able to order my very own dream car online.
