Two arrested for armed robbery

Two men aged 39 and 25 were arrested at Trichardsdal, The Oaks T-Junction for armed robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm on Saturday.

It is alleged that three armed men entered Mammary Store at Bismack Village and took cash, cigarettes, airtime and cell phones. Their plan failed when the police received a tip off from the community and tracked the suspects driving in the white Toyota Corolla.

The Police arrested the suspects and confiscated two unlicensed firearms, 70 airtime vouchers, cell phones, cigarettes and the white Toyota Corolla.

The third suspect managed to escape and is still at large.

The suspects appeared at Naphuno magistrate court on Monday and they were remanded in custody until November 10 for formal bail application.
