Two young boys drowned in Letsitele

Two young boys drowned at Mashela Valley in Letsitele over the weekend.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the gruesome discovery of the lifeless bodies of Bohlari Mkhombo and Len Masinge both aged 11, was made on Sunday morning.

“Their bodies were found floating in the river whilst their clothes were found on the river bank. Preliminary investigations revealed that the boys drowned while swimming,” said Ngoepe.

He said the boys left their homes at Bonn Village at around 14:00. He said an inquest has been opened and no foul play is suspected.

Ngoepe appealed to parents not to let their children swim the river because its very dangerous especially during the rainy summer season.
