TZANEEN: Ndavi crowned Miss Jozi

Tzaneen's Ndavi Nokeri has outshined beauty queens from all over the country to be crowned Miss Jozi 2019 at Newton Music Factory in Johannesburg recently.

The 20 year old who is currently studying BCom at the University of Pretoria, says that her new title is a life changing moment.

“The title means that I’m fully stepping into my purposes. I have always had a passion to uplift others, empower them and to make a positive difference overall.

“As a Miss Jozi, I’m given the opportunity to do that at a bigger scale, and to make a greater impact in partnership with the Miss Jozi organisation,” she told Letaba Herald.

Nokeri was crowned Miss Ben Vorster High School in 2016 and passed her Grade 12 at the school in 2017.

She stated that she still believe that beauty pageants are still relevant in this day and age.

According to her the initial role of pageantry is to groom young women into becoming more confident and to fully embrace their authenticity.

” It promotes diversity and women empowerment, but in an even bigger picture it gives a great platform for women to advocate for something their passionate about.

“Also being a voice for those who can’t stand up for themselves, beyond that being a direct helping hand to the community when participating in charity work,” she added.

She said that her big and diverse family inspires her to become great, because they’ve always supported her in everything she does and knowing that her sucess is theirs.

Some of her future goals include completing her degree and starting her own campaign which will benefit her community and the country at large and also entering Miss South Africa.

She concluded by encouraging young women to never give up on their dreams and to never allow anyone or anything to hold them back from pursuing their dreams.
