SAPS Limpopo Netball team improves at the national games

The SAPS Limpopo Netball Team slightly improved at the SAPS National Netball Championship 2019 after attaining position six at the Tshwane Municipality Sports Field in Pretoria recently.

The provincial team moved from last year’s position seven and the team says they are happy with their performance.

“I’m happy with our execution, looking at the fact that we have improved from last year.

“Despite the challenge of losing our goalshooter to an injury we still managed to play better than last year.

“I also want to applaude the team for their commitment including the Coach Mofomme Mmetja and thank all my principals including Major General Mathebula and the Provincial Commissioner General Nneke Ledwaba and all donors,” explained team manager, Sergeant Yvonne Moyana.

The games took place from Sunday, October 6-12 and were concluded by a gala dinner on the last day.

The activities started with a week long camp at Tivumbeni Multi-Purpose Centre hosted by Tzaneen Cluster Commander, Major General Maggy Mathebula accompanied by Chaplain Mboweni from SAPS Giyani and local pastors to wish them well before they could leave for the games.

The team was under the leardeship of Sergeant Yvonne Moyana from the Tzaneen Cluster as the team manager and coached by Mofomme Mmetja from Mahwelereng Cluster.

The Eastern Cape reigned supreme as the SAPS Netball National Team 2019 thriving above all the other eight provinces.

The games went well and was graced by the presence of the South African Netball President Cecelia Molokwane.

The 2020 Netball Championships will be hosted by Free state Province.
