Dr Lesego Dibetso Shivamba, makes going to the dentist look like a breeze with her beauty and charm.

Shivamba, a dentist and aesthetician has found her calling in life through giving people a beautiful smile and face.

“My passion for Facial aesthetics and dentistry drives me to learn more, to achieve more in my field, to be a beacon of hope and a blessing in my community.

“The best part about my job is that I help people live a ‘normal’ life and give them the confidence to go after their dreams.

“In today’s society we need people with confidence and especially with children, it is hard for anyone with unaligned jaws, any malfunction in their mouths to be self-assured,” she explained.Seeing the joy in people’s faces when their smiles get fixed has inspired her to study orthodontics in order to make more people’ dreams come true.

Being an esthetician she specialises in the beautification of the skin and performs beauty treatments such as botox, medical chemical peel and other body treatments.

She established the #ThumaMinaOralHealth Awareness Campaign, in which Xitsonga musician and TV personality, Papa Penny was also part of.

Through the campaign she visits local schools giving oral health education and also conducting preventative oral screening.

She was born and raised at Botsalanang Village in the Lephalale area, growing up she knew that education was her only ticket out of poverty.

“I made sure that I disciplined myself by studying hard during my matric year and in the end I reaped the rewards with three distictions.

“I eventually got a bursary from the Department of Health Limpopo to study dentistry and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity,” she said.

When she is not in her surgery in Tzaneen CBD next to the municipal offices, she is home with her family.

She is a mother of two, Muhluri and Hlovisa and a wife to Desmond Shivamba who adores her a lot.

“My wife is a superwoman because she effortlessly merges being a career woman with managing our household, motherhood and the role of a wife.

“She wears many hats and is constantly striving to improve herself in all fronts.

“She embodies all the attributes of the modern woman,” He told Letaba Herald.Her employees and her patients have nothing but kind words to say about her.Phyllis Makhubela, her Practice Manager says Shivamba is a compassionate person who always want to help anyone in need and that she is a great person to work for.

“I praise GOD Almighty for the renewed strength daily.

“I thank my family and husband and few of my close friends for the continued support in my endeavors,” she added.

Dr Shivamba is a great example to all young women that they can be successful in all areas of their lives, as long as they never give up.
