Gallery: Showing off young talent
Galaxy winners receive the opportunity to represent South Africa in March 2020 at the ski mountains of Bansko, Bulgaria (Europe).
Amoné Modelling Academy hosted their ‘Little Miss & Mister Galaxy SA 2020’ on Saturday at the Tzaneen Country Lodge.
The event set out to celebrate the talent of young boys and girls who aspire to make a difference in the world through modelling.

“We aspire to help these children in reaching their full potential in whichever modelling category they feel most comfortable in. The best part about these pageants is that everyone gets something at the end of it, so there isn’t a child who will be walking away without having won an award for their effort,” stated Cecilia Schreiber, the coach at Amoné Modelling Academy’s Tzaneen branch and event coordinator.
The pageant had a total entry of 20 children who showcased their talent and passion for the industry through their confidence and enthusiasm to make themselves memorable.
The function started off with an opening which was done by this years’ Little Miss Galaxy SA, Elzine Kotze who was the MC throughout the event.
The judges, Brandon and Amanda Kriel, who are also the directors and owners of the academy all the way from Pretoria, were blown away by the variety and originality of style, presentation and overall confidence that each child presented.
“I try by all means to encourage them to be comfortable when they are doing something. I teach them to own their personalities and be happy about it generally. To see them having so much fun is the ultimate reward,” exclaimed Schreiber.
To keep the crowd entertained, Pieter Kotze sang a few songs during breaks, which gave ample time to the judges to tally up the scores just before the crowning ceremony took place.
The evening was divided into three categories of which the first part was the talent showcase where the children sang, danced, recited poems and speeches, followed by an introductory session where each contestant spoke of who they are and what their dream in life is and lastly, the crowning ceremony.

The Galaxy National Winners were Juney Vermaak, Bontle Mametja, Masechaba Sebata and Lavela Godlwana.
National winners for Little Mister & Miss Planet SA receive the opportunity to represent South Africa in Albena, Europe in June 2020 and the winners were Kas Godlwana, Miranda Maphanga, Michelle Moseamedi and Koketsa Riba.
Thlompho Tladi dancing to win the crowd and judges hearts.
The overall winners of the pageant are Mianel du Plooy and Thlompho Tladi.
