On Wednesday morning, Herald spoke to Melanie Leicester who stated that the family, along with Keira will be landing at the Eastgate airport at 10:00.

“She has made so much progress from the first time she started the treatment. The doctors have stated that some of the muscles might take a while to heal, but Keira has been taking steps on her own and we are filled with joy to have been able to give her and the family that support and putting them in our prayers so they can have strength to get through this,” stated Leicester.

She further stated that Debby Thomson and other community members would be waiting for Keira and the family to land at the airport.

“Debby has organised a welcome party for the family. We are all so eager to see her and the progress that she has made this far. I believe that as a community we can be filled with joy for having been a part of something that turned out to be so magnificent in the end,” Leicester exclaimed with cheer in her voice.

Two weeks back when Leicester spoke to Herald, she pleaded that the community should continue helping out further, not just with Keira but with other people around who need such help and support.

Hoedies is indeed a town where caring truly goes a long way.
