Suspected killer also linked to other crimes in Tzaneen area

A suspect (26), who was wanted for murder in the Letsitele policing area, ended up being linked with seven more crime cases.

According to Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Norris Ngobeni was arrested in the Tzaneen CBD while traveling in a Toyota Quantum on Wednesday 4 June around 15:00.

According to Ngoepe the arrest came after members of the Tzaneen Tracking Team operational team act on information that was given to the Cluster Commander, Major General Maggy Mathebula by community members.

“After his apprehension, the suspect was linked to the following cases:  A robbery that was committed in November 2018, a robbery committed in May and three cases of assault he allegedly committed in November 2018,”  Ngeope said.

The suspect appeared in the Ritavi Magistrate Court on Friday 7 June on a charge of murder.

The case has been postponed to 14 June for further police investigations, Ngoepe said.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has commended members of the Tracking Task Team for appropriately acting on information received.

“The General Concluded by thanking members of the community for their continued support in providing the police with valuable information,”Ngoepe concluded.
