TZANEEN: More and more rugby for Larries

Huge excitement raged on the buses that left for Secunda on Friday morning, April 5, for the annual Super 12 group matches.

For the Larrie boys there is only one thing better than playing rugby, and that is playing more rugby.

The B-team men were very excited to test forces against Duiwelskloof Primary School’s A-teams on Tuesday, April 2.

Although the U/9 B team lost, it was a good game and congratulations to Duiwelskloof, which won with a score of 37/20.

Larries’ U/10 B team won their game 23/17 as well as the U/11 B team, 44/5.

The 3rd team won with 39/0 and the 2nd team lost against Duiwelskloof’s excellent 1st team with a score of 35/17.

Unfortunately, the weather prediction for the Saturday was not promising and the buses had to return to school unabated.

However, the Super 12 competition board decided that the final matches will continue as every year at TUKS’s LC de Villiers sports centre.

Therefore, no official results will be announced for 2019 as all games are friendly.

The Larries’ U/9 rugby team experienced a very successful day and won both their games.

Against LS JJ van der Merwe, the score was 10/0 and against LS Middelburg 31/20.

However, with the U/10’s it didn’t go so well and they lost both their games.

Against LS JJ van der Merwe with 7/10 and LS Middelburg with 0/19.

The turbulent U/11 team lost their match against LS Mooirivier.

The score was 0/24 but confidence was restored with a victory over LS van Riebeeck park.

The score was 19/7. Larries’ first rugby team experienced an incredible day and went home with two victories in the bag.

They won LS Fontainebleau with 40/0 and then what was definitely the game of the day, a narrow victory over LS Mooirivier, 12/10.
