Two boys (9) drowned outside Tzaneen

The two bodies were discovered yesterday.

The Mopani District Municipality Executive Mayor Councillor Nkakareng Rakgoale has sent her heartfelt condolences to two families whose children drowned at Mohlaba village outside Tzaneen.

“It is reported that five children went for a swim at Mohlaba Dam where three managed to come out and unfortunately the other two drowned,” Witness Tiva spokesperson for the Mopani District Municipality  said.

The Mopani Search and Rescue team joined other emergency services and started with the search.

The two bodies of  Thabo Mapuru and Light Phatudi, both aged nine years were discovered yesterday, Tuesday 20 March.

“I would like to take this opportunity and say to the  two families accept my deepest message of condolences. As the Mopani District Municipality we are urging parents and community members at large to always know the whereabouts of their children as many of our streams and rivers are full of water after it recently rained in many parts of the district.” said Rakgoale.
