TZANEEN: Six nabbed for possession of over R300 K worth of stolen goods

Police have arrested six suspects and recovered suspected stolen goods worth over R300 000 in Tzaneen and Ritavi over the weekend.

In the first incident in Tzaneen, two men aged between 25 and 40 were arrested for theft under false pretense and police recovered 18 motor vehicle tyres with the estimated value of R 6000 during the arrest.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the men also face charges of possession of suspected stolen property.

In Ritavi, police followed a tip-off from members of the community about the suspected stolen properties hidden in a rented house at Lusaka, near Nkowankowa. “They responded swiftly to the information and searched the house.

During the search, the suspected stolen properties with an estimated value of R300 000 were recovered and four suspects were arrested ,” said Ngoepe.

The suspected stolen items include cellular phones, cellular phone accessories, note books, laptops, grass cutting machine, tool box and a fan.

The arrested suspects were due to appear in various magistrate courts at the time of going to press.
