Looking for lekker local Shisanyamas

“With the winner receiving over R1 million in prizes we have taken things up a level and are looking forward to seeing how the Shisanyamas across South Africa embrace the challenge."

Do you know someone that owns a simply divine Shisanyama in the local area?

The search for South Africa’s Best Shisanyama is back and bigger than ever. The nationwide search will once again be spearheaded by iconic celebrity chef, Benny Masekwameng.

Windhoek is looking for Shisanyama owners that bring together the perfect combination of great food and a great vibe.

“There is no better companion to Shisanyama than a 100% pure beer. This is why Windhoek launched the Search for South Africa’s Best Shisanyama. The aim of the search is to reward those who invest the same level of passion and craftsmanship into their Shisanyama as Windhoek does into their beer. After last year’s success we cannot wait to see what 2018 has in store,” concluded Dana Katz, Windhoek Marketing Manager.

“This year, the stakes are even higher,” commented Masekwameng. “With the winner receiving over R1 million in prizes we have taken things up a level and are looking forward to seeing how the Shisanyamas across South Africa embrace the challenge. Last year’s search was a tremendous opportunity to not only celebrate the pastime of Shisanyama, but to also create a way to promote small business and true South African entrepreneurs. We are relying on the people of South Africa to get behind their favourite Shisanyama.”

The Windhoek Search for SA’s Best Shisanyama is made up of three phases.
1. Nominate
2. Vote
3. Register

The first phase kicks off with a call to the public to nominate their favourite Shisanyama via their cellphone using USSD and the Website. This will be followed by the next phase where the semi-finalists will be selected based on the amount of nominations received.

Chef Benny and SA’s top DJ, Mo Flava, will then visit each of the top eight venues around the country and put them through their paces. Consumers must then vote for their favourite top eight Shisanyama to get them into the top four and a step closer to the grand finale.

By voting, consumers stand a chance to also win great prizes. The exhilarating public event will take place on the December 9 at the Nasrec Showgrounds in Soweto where the top four Shisanyamas will go tong-to-tong and battle it out for the grand prize and the honour of being crowned SA’s Best Shisanyama for 2018.
