A R50 000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the fatal shooting of a 28-yearold woman and serious injuring to her partner at Henny Mabuza hostels in Rhulani Village last week.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, said the victim, Innocentia Nxalati Shingange was sleeping with her partner, aged 20 in her room when they were attacked by a group of armed people who started shooting randomly without saying anything to them.
“During the incident, the victim was shot dead and her partner was shot in his left thigh and he is still recuperating in hospital with serious injuries,” said Col Ngoepe. Ngoepe said police reacted swiftly and the manhunt ensued but the perpetrators are still on the run.
He added that one of the attackers was wearing black jeans and a blue Uzzi jersey. He said the motive behind the shooting is not known but the police investigations are continuing.
