KLG league finally gets underway

The members of the Sport Committee of the Kaizer Letsoalo Games (KLG) have kept their word that no action of the KLG Soccer League would be allowed to proceed this season without players’ cards.

In this regard, they held off the last weekend fixtures so that all participating teams are properly documented.

It is exciting, however, that the League Committee has approved the fixtures this week. Two fixtures in each division of the KLG Soccer League were scheduled to play this past Wednesday (Human Rights Day).

In the Super Division, Golden Aces hosted Mahlogwe in their highly anticipated derby at the Nyekhetlha ground in the Lephepane area.

The Premier Division fixtures set for Wednesday involved Bancock and Royal Celtic at the Mosoroni ground. The results of these two respective fixtures were not known by the time of going to the press.

This has been a huge relief for thousands of football followers who patronise the football activities of KLG Sport who have been keen to get this season’s programmes get underway.

Most teams affiliated with the KLG Soccer League this season have not yet returned their completed players’ registration forms in order for the playing cards to be processed. Only the teams whose players have players’ cards will be allowed to play. However, teams such as Moime Young Stars (Super division) and Manamela Naughty Boys (Premier division) are on stand-by despite having returned all their required paperwork.

The Administrator of the League, Trilly Mogoboya, assured all teams that had returned their documents that their players’ cards would be ready for collection this past Tuesday. This would enable the teams fixture for Wednesday to proceed with their scheduled matches without any hiccups.

“We do not want to have unnecessary disciplinary cases occasioned by the use of defaulters and improperly registered players,” said Mogoboya.

He concluded by asserting the fact that the Sport Committee will not compromise on the rule of “no card no play” in order to avoid problems.

The following teams were still to return their registration forms: Sevilla SC, Carling, Khopho Young Stars, Bubs, Monatic, Khujwana Peacemakers (Super division), Mokomotji Highlanders, Mapantsula and Khopho All Stars (Premier division).

The following fixtures were confirmed for this week:
