Crazy challenge a success

Vantshwa Va Xivono successfully carried out their annual campaign against abuse dubbed the Crazy Challenge 2017.

Led by Samuel Ntsanwisi they ran 400km in three days starting at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Wednesday the 22nd of November at 20:00.

Despite bad weather conditions (rain and thunder), they conquered the journey likening the weather to the terrible pain and heartache abused victims have to go through.

The weather cleared over the next two days until the final day when running to Nkowankowa stadium on the 25th of November 2017.

Samuel Ntsanwisi is of the view that the campaign was a great success because they met their primary goal of raising awareness.

With the support of media, they were able to catch people’s attention and minister the Gospel of #Breakthesilence and #Endtheviolence.

When you do something beyond human comprehension you attract attention and when you have attention you are able to raise awareness.

One of this year’s activities included requesting the public to pledge to protect by signing a flag carried around the country as part of a Guinness book of records attempt for the Most signatures on a flag.Unfortunately, this was not achieved due to lack of funding to print the flag and collect the required signatures effectively.

However, the organization has learnt a lot and in future this will be easily reached.

Samuel Ntsanwisi: From a running perspective, it is always mind bogging to be able to continuously run on end which is a surprise to me as well but I was supported by a great team of runners including Paul Mhlanga and Rivalani Mhlongo.

Other runners and running clubs joined us along the way singing and chanting and all that encouraged me not to stop.

Gail Mhlongo a dietician also worked out a brilliant plan for me and it worked brilliantly.

The journey ended and this marked the start of the 16 days of activism against the abuse.

On the last day being Saturday the 25th the rain ushered the team to Nkowankowa stadium where

Family and friends were there to meet the team back even though there was no event organised.
