400km’s run in three days against #abuse

The 400km’s three days journey started at the Union Buildings in Pretoria and conclude at Nkowankowa stadium.

Vantshwa Va Xivono participated on their annual 16 days of activism ultra-marathon against women and children abuse which commenced on Wednesday, November 22 2017.

The 400km’s three days journey started at the Union Buildings in Pretoria and conclude at Nkowankowa stadium in Tzaneen on Saturday November 25 at 14:00 where a welcome event was planned.

November 25 marked the official launch of the 16 days of activism against women & children abuse.

This year’s activities included an inclusion in the Guinness World Book of Records for most signatures on a flag.

South Africans were  edged to sign theirs pledges to emphasize a stop to this social ill.

This is part of a Guinness book of records attempt for “The Largest social movement: Most signatures on a flag”.

The target  was get more than 110 000 signatures although Vantshwa Va Xivono has set the bar high in targeting 1 000 000 signatures.

“This is not mainly about breaking the record but raising awareness against abuse and encouraging everyone not to remain silent,” said Sam Ntsanwisi, Organiser of the marathon.

Different government stake holders and NGO’s that works with abused victims were invited to attend and discuss: #Break the silence #End the violence (Can this ever be achieved and How can we work together to make this a reality?).

The public signed the flag as the team ran through their towns and they also sent their signature digitally on whats-app line.
