Phalaborwa: Municipality full of empty promises?

It seems as though the municipal officials have forgotten in whose employment they really are.

Residents of Ba-Phalaborwa embarked on a peaceful march in early November, where they handed over a memorandum to the Mayor, Pule Shayi, which stipulated all their grievances.

The mayor accepted the memo and promised to address all issues stated, within 14 days, although the memo said residents should be addressed within 21 days.

In spite of his promise, another deadline has come and gone for the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality.

The illustrious and ‘honourable’ mayor stood in front of the townsfolk and promised to have the memorandum handed to him, attended to.

However, yet another empty promise has been broken.

Again, the mayor has failed on his promise made to the rate/taxpayers of Phalaborwa.

Could the powers-that-be ever be trusted?

It seems as though the municipal officials have forgotten in whose employment they really are.

The residents of Phalaborwa want to know if the mayor, Pule Shayi, has lost the memorandum that was given to him.

Please be the mayor the citizens want to be proud of, of the town we love.

Phalaborwa awaits your answer.
