HOEDSPRUIT: Sam Liversage remains in police custody

Liversage's court appearance was in connection with the discovery of rhino horns and ivory tusks at Sandringham Game Reserve

Proffesional Hunters Association of South Africa member, Samuel Liversage (68), appeared before the Hoedspruit Periodical Court on August 23.
The court appearance was in connection with the discovery of rhino horns and ivory tusks at Sandringham Game Reserve the week before.
“The farm manager was arrested on August 17 and 10 rhino horns, two large elephant tusks, 11 hunting rifles, of which four are unlicensed, over 1300 rounds of live ammunition and over 150 empty cartridges were seized by the members. All 11 rifles, including the licensed weapons, were confiscated and sent for ballistic testing,” Police spokesperson Brigadier Vish Naidoo said.
Liversage will appear again before the Hoedspruit Magistrate soon for his formal bail hearing.
