Justice never looked this good

Justice for all is Magistrate Carol Hon'wana 's drive everyday when she goes to work.

Hon’wana is the first female black regional magistrate in the Tzaneen Cluster and is currently the Coordinator of the Regional Magistrate of the Tzaneen Cluster. She says she has a passion for children and education.

In May she participated in the ‘Take a Girl Child to Work’ initiative, where she hosted over 30 learners from local schools.

“To the woman who never got the opportunity of going to school, make use of the facilities that are available.

Attend Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) to prepare yourself to be employable,” explained Hon’wana.

The title of being a magistrate comes with its challenges and not having enough time with family is one of them, as she says that her job demands a lot from her.

“During the time that I was appointed a magistrate, female magistrates were scarce and still are. But I say there is no profession that is made specifically for certain people,” added Hon’wana.

She urges young girls and women to know that everything is possible as long as they work hard.
