Phinda releases a song that encourages men to fight abuse

A well-known Xitsonga musician Tshembani Jimmy popularly known to his fans as 'Phinda Marhungani' has released his song called 'Xirhunga Tiko' .

According to him the song encourages man to take care of women rather than abusing and killing them.

“This song encourages man to stop abusing and violating women. Seeing that women are majority men should stand up and pull up their socks and take care of women.” Said Marhungani

His love for music started at the young age, following at his late father’s footsteps who was also a xitsonga musician John Mayengani (J.K Khazamula) and his mother who is a traditional healer and sings for her initiates during ancestral ceremonies called ‘ukutwasa’. He describes his father as his role model.

“Music to me is spiritual food because whenever I go through difficulties I sing and I get healed spiritually and emotionally,” he said.

Apart from music he is a Movie producer under his film stable called Phinzamzala productions where he has produced a film called ‘Victims of fame’. Phinda Marhungani has a BCOM Degree from Wits University.

In Music he has signed under Humba Communications which is ran by weather presenter and xitsonga Musician Tirhani Mabasa.

She described him as hardworking and talented musician who has taken the xitsonga music by storm.

“Phinda Marhungani is a very good artist who always gives 100% to his job and whenever he is at studio he focuses on his music,” said Mabasa a managing director of Humba Communications which has artists such as Soshangani and Mshengu Chavalala.
