The Acornhoek police are investigating an inquest after an unknown man was found dead on Saturday, May 6.

“It is alleged that the body of a naked man was found in Mooisit, Acornhoek near Alito scrap year. The man had an injury on his left leg and one ear was completely torn off”, Constable Mxolisi Ndlovu, Acornhoek police spokesperson told the Herald.

A postmortem was done on the body and it was concluded that the man was attacked by dogs which are believed to guard the scrap yard.

In a separate incident just hours before the body was discovered, another man who claims that he was attacked by six dogs suffered injuries to the stomach.

“The Mooisit community later went to the scrap yard and damaged the property, and a case of malicious damage was filed”, he further stated.

The Acornhoek police call on the community to not take matters into their own hands and let the law take its toll.
