TZANEEN: GTM re-launches Community Safety Forum

The CSF is responsible for Tzaneen's safety in the following departments, health, school, tourism, social crime and roads.

The Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM) together with the Department of Safety, Security and Liasion, relaunched the Tzaneen Community Safety Forum (CSF) on Tuesday at the Council Chamber.

The CSF is responsible for Tzaneen’s safety in the following departments, health, school, tourism, social crime and roads.

Nkhensani Mhlongo, the newly elected Chairperson of the Tzaneen Community Safety Forum (CSF).

The newly elected CSF has 10 members in which five have been retained from the previous one.

The elections were facilitated by Roland Stander, Chief Director for Crime Prevention and Community Police Relations from the Department of Transport, Safety, Security and Liasion.

The school safety forum will be very useful in preventing the rising number of criminal activities in our schools such as drugs and gangsterism.

And also when Tzaneen is safe it also boosts the local tourism industry hence tourism safety forms part of the CSF,” added Stander.

The newly elected members are, Nkhensani Mhlongo, Chairperson, Dave Protter, Deputy-Chairperson, Gester Mabuza, Secretary, Evans Machita, Samaria Mkhabela, Baloyi.S (health safety), Jane Sambo (tourism safety), Kabelo Machete (school safety) and Stanley Letsoalo (social crime prevention).

The newly elected CSF will run for a period of five years.
