With a vision to support core businesses to manage the biodiversity and heritage assets through innovation and best practices, for the just and equitable benefit of current and future generation, the Kruger National Park (KNP) hosted a stakeholder participation plan review on April 25 at the Rhino Convention centre in Hoedspruit.

“The goal of the public participation process is to work directly with stakeholders ensuring that their plans and aspirations are consistently understood and considered”, stated Owen Henderson, Facilitator of the workshop.

All people who are interested or affected by park activities were given adequate opportunity to comment or raise their concerns in an interactive manner whereby they were divided into groups and tackle issues presented to the.

“SANParks is obliged to consider and respond to all comments and suggestions, where feasible, comments and suggestions will be incorporated into the management plans. Where this is not possible, justification for decisions will be given”, Henderson further stated.

Progress with the implementation of the Park Management Plans is assessed on an annual and a five yearly basis.
