Community rally’s against Scott-Crossley

It is alleged that the Welverdiend community followed the vehicles that transported Scott-Crossley back to the Hoedspruit cells.

Mark Scott-Crossley (50) appeared before the Lenyenye Magistrate court in connection with an alleged racist attack against 37 year old Silence Mabunda of Welverdiend, just outside Hoedspruit and his case was postponed to April 12.

It is alleged that the Welverdiend community followed the vehicles that transported Scott-Crossley back to the Hoedspruit cells.

“The POP and Maake crime prevention members were deployed to deal with the situation and they are still continuing to monitor the situation”, stated Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, police spokesperson.

“The court previously denied his request for bail after Scott Crossley handed himself over to the police on January 18”, stated Segeant Luvhuwani Mulaudzi Hoedspruit Police spokesperson.

Mabunda, a general worker at the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation centre, said that Scott-Crossley attacked him at a shop in Hoedspruit while he was buying airtime in December.

He allegedly hurled racial insults at Mabunda, broke his cellphone before allegedly running him over with his car and Mabunda now struggles to walk without assistance.
