“It is alleged that in the early hours of Saturday morning, the deceased was sleeping alone in a two roomed house when she started screaming until her family members came out to investigate and they saw a male person running away,” stated Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
The deceased was murdered by a well known community member from the village, at that time she was lying in a pool of blood, crying.
” The girl was certified dead on the scene within a short space of time, with multiple stab wounds throughout her body.”
“The knife presumed to be the one used by the suspect was found next to the deceased’s body.” stataed Ngoepe.
The suspect was immediately traced by the Police and was arrested within a few hours.
The motive of this killing is still unknown and Police investigations are still continuing.
The suspect will appeared before the Giyani Magistrate Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
