TZANEEN: Extremely hot but thunderstorms predicted

If predictions are accurate, a thunderstorm and a shower or two are on the cards for Tzaneen and surrounding areas this afternoon.

SA Weather has issued a warning of a thunderstorm in the Mooketsi area for today.

A warning of  hot and humid conditions is also issued that will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions in Limpopo.

And Tzaneen is no exception.

It is currently 35 degrees and the possibility of a thunderstorm and showers is not ruled out, according to AccuWeather.

According to Weather SA a surface trough will extend across the north-western,central and south-eastern parts of the country.

A few upper air perturbations are indicated in places over the central interior.

As a result a broad band of scattered thundershowers is expected from the northern to the eastern parts of the country, scattered in the Mpumalanga region.

A cold front approaching from the far west is likely to cause partly cloudy conditions over the extreme western parts of the country that could extend towards the south.

Temperatures:

Maximum temperatures will be cool along the south and south-east coast, otherwise warm and hot in the northern parts. It will be hot in the lowveld and in the western bushveld.

Minimum temperatures will be cold in the south-western interior, otherwise cool but warm in the extreme east, lowveld, Limpopo Valley and the western bushveld.
