Butchery robbed at gunpoint

Police in Ritavi outside Tzaneen are on a manhunt for five armed suspects who robbed a butchery on Monday afternoon.

“It is alleged that this group of suspects attacked a security guard who was on duty at Bridgeway Butchery in Sasekani village.

They pointed firearms at him, tied him up and entered the butchery through the roof, stealing boerewors valued at R7000 00, a White Nissan Hardbody bakkie valued at R198 000 00, a computer monitor valued at R15 000 00 and an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene,” said Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

After the police were summoned, they acted immediately and followed the suspects until the car was recovered in the bushes around Sekororo area.

No arrests have been made and police investigations are still continuing.
