According to Hoedspruit Police Station Communications Officer, Sergeant Livhuwani Mulaudzi, the 48 year old woman shot her husband three times and he died on the scene.
The incident occurred at Kampersus on February 19 at around 15:45.
Preliminary investigations suggest that moments after murdering her husband, the woman fled and was arrested at Sabi Tweefontein on 21 February.
Visser has since appeared before the Naphuno Magsigrate Court on a charge of murder and was granted bail of a R1 000.
Mulaudzi added that the 28 year old Caroline Mogofe, arrested on an attempted murder case, has appeared before the Naphuno Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
It is believed that she was pregnant and on Monday went to her boyfriend to inform him of her pregnancy, but the boyfriend refuted her pregnancy assertions.
The woman is believed to have gave birth and wrapped her new born baby with a newspaper and plastic before throwing him in the pit toilet.
It is also alleged that she also threw some stones into the pit toilet after throwing in the child.
After a while, a neighbour went to the house where she was hiding and upon arrival, the woman noticed a trail of blood stains leading from the house to the toilet.
She then went to the toilet to check what was happening which led her to hearing a baby’s cry.
She called for help from the community members and they assisted by demolishing the pit toilet and managed to rescue the baby; fortunately the baby is alive and was taken to Sekororo Hospital.
Mulaudzi added that on Tuesday morning she contacted the hospital and was informed that the baby is alive and healthy.
“We are pleading with the community to intervene and assist. Baby clothing, food parcels and all donations should be dropped at the police station. I am advising all women especially young people to visit our local clinics for family planning to avoid having to terminate pregnancies or killing innocent lives,” Mulaudzi said.
They also arrested three people for possession of dagga.
