Mopani policewoman represents Lim in golf nationals

Captain Charlotte Thuketana proudly represents Limpopo in national golf championships, inspiring women in sports and beyond.

TZANEEN – A policewoman from Mopani flew the district’s flag high after she was selected to represent Limpopo at a national golf championship.

Captain Charlotte Thuketana from Nkowankowa is attached to the Mopani district’s family violence, children protection and sexual violence unit participated in the tournament that was held at the Ebotse Golf Estate in Gauteng recently.

She was a member of the Limpopo SAPS team which comprised of six members and was she was the only female in the group.

She told the Herald that although they did not win the tournament, she is proud to have represented the province.

She has represented the province in four national tournaments since 2018.

The mother of two says her success is due to the support from her children and her husband.

Thuketana says she loves the sport and finds it refreshing and to be a stress reliever.

Despite her busy schedule, she makes time to practice at least twice a week.

Currently, she is coaching two students as a way of giving back, as she was trained by former colleague, Norman Mathebula.

Her dream is to win a big tournament, and she believes it will materialise one day.
